BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid ruby/garnet, with some development. Aromatic, warm, spicy nose. Spice and a hint of pepper on the palate in a mediumweight style. Well-balanced red fruits, with light (for Aglianico) tannins. Good commercial stuff 14.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright. Pungent, fruity nose, no fault or obvious wood: prune/plum. Succulent plummy fruit on the palate, smooth velvety tannins, sweet cherryplummy finish, with adequate acidity and surprising length. Relatively easy-drinking wine that shows off the grape well. Not likely to improve significantly; charm rather than substance 15

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to pink rim. Mature, clean, and elegant, with note of sandalwood—yet it is a touch simple. Medium-bodied palate, with lively acidity and restrained clean fruit. Overall, a well-made wine, with very clean fruit, yet a touch simple 15
