Tim Atkin: Ruby red, with some garnet. Lighter than the 2007, with less concentration. The tannins are still there on the palate, but they are drying out the fruit. Pepper, spice, and clove, with fresh acidity, gamey, sun-dried tomato notes, and a firm finish 15

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-depth color, with beginnings of orange on the rim. Clean nose, with cherry fruit coming through. A relatively simple, though very typical, wine, lacking the concentration of some in this tasting but having good balance and drinkability, especially with food. Finishes a bit austere, but has middle length. Drink for 5 years 15
