Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, correct, oranging on rim. Somewhat inexpressive nose, clean, slightly floral. Has everything you might seek in good Barolo but at lowish intensity; certainly very Nebbiolo, with roses and herb rather than berry/cherry. Subtle; a connoisseur’s wine. Drink now for 10 years - 16
Stephen Brook: Deep brick red. Rich, meaty, leathery nose, but not tired or oxidized. Indeed, it has some aromatic lift. Medium-bodied, quite lean, silky; has intensity rather than weight, and the acidity is a bit assertive at present. It seems one-dimensional and lacking in nuance, though the fruit has purity and drive. This needs time to come together and develop some complexity. Good length - 16
Jancis Robinson: Very dark, glowing fox red. Already quite well balanced; well knit; ripe bouquet. Then firm and tasty and tight structure on the palate. Very confident and reassuring. Nothing overdone about this. It could only be Barolo. Firm and scented with a light cumin note. Desperately needs food, but that’s no criticism in a Barolo. Drink 2014–22. Great freshness - 17.5
