Nicolas Belfrage: Much deeper color, but rim is correct. Second bottle has pronounced floral aroma. Rich but subtle fruit of raspberry—almost jammy sweetness; Porty finish, good acidity, firm but not excessive tannin. Classic style, quite forward and drinking from 2012+ - 17
Stephen Brook: Very deep brick red. Meaty, gamey nose; lacks freshness. Broad, rich, and concentrated, with firm tannins and ample grip. Dense and brooding, animated and spicy, with quite good acidity to sustain it. It’s not very expressive or seductive, but the structure is fine, and this should have a good future - 16
Jancis Robinson: Dark crimson. Very rich and ripe and even a little cheesy. A bit volatile? Awfully drying on the end—pretty gawky and uncomfortable to taste, though there is sweetness and opulence initially. I think you would have to be a Barolo-phile already to really appreciate this. Drink 2014–19 - 14
