Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep; okay. Quite a spicy, herby lift on nose. Very structured, with almost intrusive acidity and typical tannins. Very flavory savory/mineral palate, held in place by structure. Good length but slightly mono-linear through the mouth; doesn’t expand. Give it three years before drinking- 15.:
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny rim. Layered, complex small-black-fruits nose, with hints of forest undergrowth, black truffles, and tar. Full-bodied palate, with considerable tannins well supported by the rich black fruit. Long and clean finish. Classically structured Barolo, with long life ahead- 17.5:
Jancis Robinson: Dark crimson. Looks more like a Bordeaux, still with some blue notes. Savory tobacco notes. I have a horrid feeling that I might even take this for a Tempranillo blind. Maybe not on the palate, where there is an appetizing, attractive dryness and tang. Relatively forward. You could almost drink this already. Drink 2014–20- 16 :
