Tim Atkin: Youthful, inky, dark. Aromatic sandalwood and Asian spices on the nose. Strange palate: some pepper spice, but the fruit is rather simple, raspberry fruity, and one-dimensional. Young vines? But still a decent wine, with the fragrance leading the dance, supported by fresh acidity 15.5
Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Fresh zesty nose, with a good deal of oak, black-cherry and blueberry fruit, chocolate; quite vibrant. Medium-bodied, supple, sleek, with ample freshness but light tannins and little depth of flavor. The acidity gives a bit too much piquancy, resulting in a wine with verve rather than complexity. Medium length 14.5
Alex Hunt: An unashamedly hedonistic blackberry Jell-O [jelly] nose takes this wine toward Zinfandel territory. While this character persists on the palate, along with marked alcohol, Syrah reasserts itself in the form of a suitably pungent pepperiness, which will be a great asset when it comes to serving the wine with food. There is impressive delineation given the richness of fruit 16
