Tim Atkin: Rich red/purple. Sawdusty, oakdominated nose backed up by plenty of sweet black fruit. Tannic, dry, oaky palate. Like a bad Barossa style. The acidity sticks out like a broken elbow. Unbalanced 12

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Weird and volatile nose, sweet and wild, but too sickly to be acceptable. Soft, loose, rounded, simple, and lacking in bite and grip. Has some acidity, but it sticks out and doesn’t seem integrated. Fades on the finish. Short 12

Alex Hunt: Fairly closed still but a promising blend of jammy fruit, spice, and smoke on the nose. A thick, tarry, yet still quite high-acid palate makes this hard work at the moment. A few years should see it unravel nicely, though it is likely to remain angular in style 15
