Alex Hunt: This nose is more hedgerow than pure fruit; not green, but rosehip and hawthorn; bramble rather than blackberry. Fresh, lively mouthfeel, with fairly gentle tannin, cleansing but not aggressive acidity, and plenty of flavor weight to fill out the structure- 14.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Warm, softly kirschy; not huge aromatic focus but shyly intriguing. Genuinely impressive here, with ample ripeness and plenty of softly extractive bass counterweight. It has the tongue-coating qualities of the best wines of this regional subgroup and something of their crushedrock finish, too. Almost a mineral saltiness. Delicious, complex stuff on the palate, though the nose remains relatively simple- 15
Simon Larkin: A solid appearance in the glass, the aromas are again reticent, discreetly hinting at freshly crushed berry; leafy, too. The palate is fresh and elegant, with a mid-weight, ripe berry fruit and notes of blackcurrant leaf. All well expressed—some grippy youthful tannins show to the finish. A good example, with a moderately lingering finish. A well-made, correct example, nothing more- 12
