Alex Hunt: Pretty, beguiling, fresh-fruit-driven, but unshowy nose. The palate unfolds beautifully: berry fruit, turning to spice and mineral turning to marzipan. The tannin lends just enough grip without intruding; the acidity lends freshness ditto. Intelligent, graceful wine- 17
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. This is good: dark, sweet black-cherry fruits lifted by a lyrical, almost Pinot-like charm. Aromatically, I wouldn’t guess it was Cabernet Franc, yet it seems like a very attractive wine. Juicy, fresh, vivid, lively, without any colossal low-latitude palate wealth; this is a really graceful, fresh, shapely, enticing wine, with lots of aromatic complexity, balanced by poised, fresh, and natural-seeming acidity. Almost the most Cabernet Franc-like thing about it is the faintly licorice-like finish. Delicious, smooth, sweetly fresh. It’s not markedly varietal, but it works very well- 14
Simon Larkin: Far and above the freshest example of this flight [Rest of World]. Good bright core of berry fruit, vibrant acidity—there is a touch of milk chocolate and vibrant berry-fruit note. Nonetheless, this is a simple wine with a simple fruit character and little beyond. Certainly not complex, yet avoiding the bell-pepper notes of previous wines in this flight. There is some succulent fruit here but little complexity- 9
