Alex Hunt: Intense summer-fruit compote aromas lifted by some mint, with chocolaty oak in the background. Chewy in the mouth—but satisfyingly so, rather than overextracted. A good balance of freshness and density. Very accomplished wine- 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Saturated black-red. Lots of oak here, which rather occludes whatever lurks beneath. Quite full-on, oaky, ripe wine. Good in its way, with lots of flavor intensity and searching depths, yet I don’t quite find “the Cabernet Franc difference” here other than that it is a tenor rather than a baritone or bass in what I assume is a lower-latitude location. Less oak, please, and more vineyard- 14
Simon Larkin: Sweeter-natured fruit on the nose, with a heavy oak overlay. A sleek style, with serious new-oak elements overpowering the fruit. Drying, toasty; there is a marked acidity behind, but the fruit is all too easily dwarfed. Biscuity, toasty oak overrides. Behind there is a good volume of black fruit, but the drying oak influence proves too much- 9
