Alex Hunt: Some relatively ripe fruit flavors here, but very high acidity, monolithic tannin, and a slightly grubby note. This doesn’t flow and, despite its lightness, lacks finesse- 11
Andrew Jefford: Saturated dark black-red. This has a slightly muddled aromatic profile, with some inky fruit yet also some notes of sweet decay. Little vivacious freshness here. Grippy, fresh, crunchy, yet again quite hard, with the faint acidulousness that I also found in the previous wine in this regional subgrouping. It’s certainly Cabernet Franc, but I can taste a struggle for ripeness here that the previous group didn’t have. No true wealth and warmth, though no greenness either. Fair- 12
Simon Larkin: Deep, near opaque in the glass. The aromas exude notes of blackcurrant leaf, dark fruit, and a savory aspect. The palate is ripe, with a good lush, succulent core; more volume here but also more acidity. Far livelier than anticipated; a little hard in present form, with a bracing acidity and a firmness to the tannins, one would think this has good potential to offer, but it really needs to come together- 14
