Alex Hunt: Very high volatile acidity—actually vinegary. Otherwise, a good wine: plump fruit, fresh but not excessive acidity, supple tannins. But rampant VA and burnt rubber on the finish disfigure this wine- 8
Andrew Jefford: Saturated red-black. Fresh, brisk, earthy— but also a little cardboardy, a little car-fascialike. Promising but not yet pure or impeccable. A slight note of sweaty leather, too. A cascade of flavors here: leather, licorice, sweet fruits, leaves. Ample tannic presence, and some acidity without the glare of adjustment. Intense, complex, stimulating. Aesthetically, I feel compelled to say that it’s not wholly successful—it’s just a little too wacky for that—yet I feel this is a very sincere and very enjoyable attempt to extend the varietal repertoire in its location. I would persist- 13.5
Simon Larkin: Coffee, mocha-infused berry fruit on the nose. Oddly woody. There is an unusual milk-chocolate and bell-pepper character to the sweet berry fruit here. Dirty, savory fruit. Poor. 6
