Alex Hunt: This is a very expressive nose—it shows its age, with notes of warm brick and turmeric, and yet the fruit remains unmistakably Chilean. In the mouth, the texture is very satisfying, with sufficient tannic grip to frame the flavor, but no excess muscle. Nicely done, and still with room to develop - 17

Andrew Jefford: Dark, saturated black-red still, though the purple hues have gone. Creamy, nutty, treacly: good fun. (I sense there was just a little mixed ripeness here nonetheless.) Light-textured and a little dry compared to the grandees of the Chilean flight - 13.5

Jancis Robinson: Lustrous developed dark ruby. Complex nose that is lightly tarry and none the worse for that. Sweet and round and perhaps lacks a little freshness. Fun to wallow in now but not a very safe bet for the long term. Drink to 2014 - 16
