Alex Hunt: Very pretty fruit aromas—more redcurrant than black—marred by an excess creaminess. The palate is quite simple and foursquare, with a light finish. Perfectly well made, but rather slight in this context - 14
Andrew Jefford: Saturated, opaque black-red. Lots of dark, almost smoky black fruit; some savory, salty, licoricey behind. Almost toffeeish or treacly, but not quite. Dense and concentrated, but very sweet once again. That sweetness is lovely in its own way, and it comes with some gratifying tannin that helps dry it out a little; the classic European consuming palate might still find the sweetness a little overdone. But like almost every wine in this tasting, this is no aesthetic failure but a poised and concentrated example of fine black fruits that have come into being under Chile’s bright, clockwork summer skies. I’d be happy to drink a glass any time - 14.5
Jancis Robinson: Very dark crimson. Leather and licorice on the nose. Interesting top notes. Well balanced, with the merest hint of greenness on the finish. (Carmenère? Petit Verdot?) The most obviously Chilean so far. Very gentle. Already quite evolved. Beautifully made. Dryer than some. Drink to 2015 - 17
