Alex Hunt: There is herbal-bramble pleasure on the nose here, but it feels a little flat and dusty, as if very slightly oxidized. The palate is juicy but on the sour side, and there is not a lot of depth. A good drink, but not a strong statement - 14
Andrew Jefford: Dark, dense black-purple. A sweet, oaky, rich scent, supported by black fruits; almost a Spanish idiom here. Appetizing nonetheless. On the palate, the wine is rich, sweet, full, but slightly flat in the middle palate. There’s impressive tannic depth, nonetheless, and a chocolaty finish. Decent without being outstanding, and (it seems to me) wine predicated on the customary perceptions of the US palate. I enjoy the tannins, anyway - 14
Jancis Robinson: Purple. Some minerals and interest, as well as lots of ripe fruit. Very vibrant and vital. Round and well made. Great verve and balance, with attractive wine health (no risks or animal notes). Polished. Really complex and fun. You can almost taste stones in the vineyard. Long. Drink to 2020 - 17
