Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red, though not opaque. Warm, harmonious, and resonant; an attractive melange of red fruits, tar, vanilla, and earth. Vivid, deep, engaging, and long, with power and depth; lovely tannins; complete. It does, though, have slightly more jutting, prominent acidity than its peer group and slightly less width and wealth of tannins. Nonetheless a very attractive mix of fruit and minerality, lit by a glowing inner fire, and tannin-supported 16
Richard Mayson: Deep, nearly opaque ruby, with a thin purple rim; rather spirity on the nose, with medicinal fruit underlying, not yet knit together. Ditto on the palate: soft sweet fruit and spirit; loose-knit—perhaps just a phase, but this strikes me as an oddball and doesn’t promise much pleasure 12.5 Jancis Robinson: Dark crimson; looks quite middle-aged. Mellow nose. Not the most interesting. Rather sharp acidity and lack of really concentrated fruit in the middle. Very tart. South African? Drink 2014–20 16
