BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid-straw. Very oak-dominated nose and palate. Why do this to such a fragrant grape? High acid, slightly sour, with way too much extracted, savory oak. Bitter finish, tannic, sour. Nasty finish 11

Jesús Barquín: Straw yellow, with green hues. Oak rules here, imparting a smoky and aniseed character to the nose. At the same time there is a tight acid structure. This wine will show its best on the dinner table matched to some moderately hearty dish 14.5

Simon Field: Dense color, hints of gold and lime; the palate is holding up well, given its age and initial impressions that these wines were disinclined to age. Orchard fruit on the palate, then rounded, semi-tropical flavors. Oak evident but not overwhelming; nice length. Perhaps Albariño can age after all! 16
