Tim Atkin: Slight spritz, pale lemon/gold. Quite closed, with some minerals on the nose and a little free sulfur dioxide. Palate much more impressive: saline, focused, with minerally, apple and grapefruit notes, tangy acidity and a long mouthwatering finish. Made in a (just) off-dry style 16.5

Nicolas Belfrage: 1 = color of water and 9 = deep gold: Col 2. Attractive slightly perfumed nose, which shows its maturity. Nothing petrolly; rather honeyed. Good acidity, holding up well, but falls short of being exciting. Good example of Riesling from Italy—if you can call Alto Adige Italy—but a minor player on the world stage 13

Alex Hunt: Relatively rich yellow color for Riesling, and a style that combines the peach-slate aroma of the Pfalz with an Austrian breadth. This is a satisfying dry Riesling that has enough flesh on the bones without the flavor being overhyped; it seems more comfortable in its skin than many an Auslese trocken 16
