BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Pale lemon/green. Aromatic, floral, stone-fruit nose, with hints of peach and apricot. Minerally and taut, but the fruit seems a little more dilute on the palate. A pleasant, floral wine, but without any great depth 15

Nicolas Belfrage: 1 = color of water and 9 = deep gold: Col 2. Fresh but somewhat nonspecific on nose, as befits the variety. Characteristic weight on palate, middling acidity, and a certain self-importance that, again, befits the variety. But somewhat uneventful 13

Alex Hunt: It may be labeled “Grigio,” but this is very much a Pinot Gris style, achieving that elusive pear-and-gingerbread aroma without crossing over into flabbiness. A trace of bitterness brings welcome focus, but the palate has a slightly heavy pastry flavor that masks the fruit; the wine would be more delicious without this 15
