Tim Atkin: Very dense, saturated color. Almost no bottle development at all. Lovely, spicy, cinnamon, clove, and white-pepper notes on the nose. Palate ditto, but with a bit more tannin and blackberry fruit. Structured, serious, complex, beautifully balanced red wine. Needs food. Savory finish. 3–5 years- 18.5

Alex Hunt: An odd, tarry style that shows the bright, burned-rubber vestiges of reduction alongside more oxidative Marmitey notes. There is some telltale Syrah minerality on the palate, but overall this is hampered by a lack of purity- 12.5

Anthony Rose: Good rich color, nicely evolved, meaty intense aromas; fine intense fruit succulence, richness and concentration, a hint of paprika smokiness, fine firm acidity; lovely dark fruits, savory acidity- 17
