BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Deep purple/ruby color. Spicy, clove nose, very intense, very aromatic, nicely integrated oak. Complex, spicy clove-andwhite- pepper palate. Touch of reduction, fresh acidity, and some minerality. Good length; clean, fresh finish. 1–3 years- 17.5

Alex Hunt: Fairly closed, savory-leafy nose. Vaguely licoricey palate, with a broad mouthfeel but quite powdery tannins. Needs more fruit, focus, and drive- 12

Anthony Rose: Good youthful color, fresh and spicy aromas, attractively ripe, rich dark-berry fruit quality framed by spice and pepper, with fine succulent tannins and juicy, savory fresh acidity; overall, a very well-balanced, approachable style, with just little bit more opulence than northern Rhône Syrah but in similar mold. No hard edges- 17
