Tim Atkin: Purple with garnet rim. Charry, slightly sweet, oak-dominated nose. But better palate, albeit with a forward, Pinot-like, tomato-skin note. Some pepper and spice. Not sure this will last the course. Some sweetness. Pleasant but not profound- 15

Alex Hunt: Baked, tarry, oxidative aromas. Concentrated, and surprisingly fresh acidity on the palate, but not a lot of aromatic interest- 13.5

Anthony Rose: Good rich youthfully dense ruby and a fine aromatic intensity, with mulberry and dark-berry fruits very much to the fore; marked acidity on the palate keeps this fresh, and the mulberry fruit quality is seductively juicy and approachable. Very much Syrah in cool-climate mold but a tad austere- 16
