BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Opaque, super-dense color. Very oaky nose. Way too much oak on the palate, too. Barossa style, quite dried out, tannic, lacking in fruit. An overambitious wine that falls short. Oak-dominated finish- 14

Alex Hunt: Powerful blackberry, plum, and alcohol aromas. The palate is dominated and also rather dried out by new oak. Clean and intense, but too much of everything (except grace and aromatic detail)- 14

Anthony Rose: Deep color; quite self-evident spicy, licoricey oak on the nose; powerful richly concentrated plum, prune, and dark-berryfruit quality here; a tad chunky with an almost mouth-puckering freshness to balance out the ripeness of fruit- 15.5
