BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Rich litchi nose, quite floral, but there’s a whiff of bandages, giving a somewhat sickly aura to what would otherwise have been an appealing nose. Broad and rather flat, lacks energy and vigor, and shows some bitterness on the finish. This seems tired 11

Alison Buchanan: This really is extraordinary, with a braised-meat nose, allied to some spice. The palate is rather more loyal to a sense of place and variety than the nose, but the overall effect is rather monotone (sweet and oily) and therefore tiring. A bit gloopy; honey and caramel rule withal 12

Anthony Rose: What goes on here? Not a lot. A rather pallid and washed-out Gewurz whose primary sweet fruit has given way to more evolved gingery and rose-petal undertones. It’s still lively, which is quite an achievement, and yet the pleasure is hard to find 13.5
