Andrew Jefford: Mid-gold in color. Attractive scents, sweet pollen, a little Virginia tobacco. But then... a big hit of raw, uncovered, entirely unbalanced acidity, unredeemed by any form of richness, sweetness, or charm. Sipping this would be pure masochism 9
Andreas Larsson: Very nice and tempting nose, with notes of mineral, hazelnuts, fresh butter, gentle oak, and ripe citrus. Excellent grip and intensity on the palate; layers of elegant fruit, juicy acidity, and plenty of extract that adds an austere mouthfeel in the positive sense of the word. Very persistent and complex finish; serious wine18
Stephan Reinhardt: Is this a pirate? Quite similar to the New Zealand Sauvignon that was shaped like a Burgundy from Puligny [Dog Point Vineyard Section 94 Marlborough New Zealand]. There must be a trick, though. Very vital and vibrant. Salty and pure; rich but well structured and long. Quite complex and powerful. Drink it now and ask Austria what remains to be done to minimize the extraordinary alcohol levels 16
