Andrew Jefford: Pale water-gold. Subtle, lifted, more floral and hay-like than many in the New Zealand bracket, yet with an attractive chlorophyll note behind it, too. A little yeasty, also; this is less attractive (vitamin-B yeastiness rather than creamy lees). Not an overwhelmingly seductive aromatic profile, but quietly engaging and satisfying. On the palate, this is fresh, deep, and vivid, with a bit more chew and depth than many of its peers. Good Sauvignon: well-judged yields and perhaps some slightly older vines beginning to give depth and authority—and restrained winemaking, which is allowing those vineyard qualities to come forward. A balanced, complex wine, with gastronomic potential. More aromatic finesse would merit a still higher score 15
Andreas Larsson: A rather discreet nose, less aromatic with some notes of citrus peel and melon. The palate is rather light but with a nice austere freshness and good length 13
Stephan Reinhardt: Very bright color. Aromatic on the nose, quite rich and less discreet than the wines before. Racy attack, searing acidity, quite mineral, rich and powerful. The alcohol gives it a certain sweetness. Slightly drying in the end. Unbalanced now. Will this change? 14
