Andrew Jefford: Pale to mid-gold. Sweet and gracious, with some pea-pod charm. A little vanillin and some floral notes, too. Attractive scents. The palate, by contrast, is both sweet and acidic but just doesn’t carry enough mid-palate fruit and vinosity to make it all work; one is left with a sweet-and-sour sensation built around a slightly greasy grassiness. Perhaps it’s better to see it as an unusual and unorthodox Riesling... But for anyone expecting “Sauvignon Blanc” as defined by the Loire, by Bordeaux, and by New Zealand, this really won’t measure up, and I can’t help wondering why it has been planted here. Hmmm... Nonetheless, if you are measuring concentration and flavor, there is a lot here. I just wouldn’t like to have to drink it 10.5
Andreas Larsson: Intense nose, with hints of elderflower and passion fruit; it shows a fairly rounded texture, gently creamy with yellow fruit flavors, a balanced acidity, and medium to long, spicy finish. It feels a bit sweet is but probably more due to high ripeness/mellow acidity than to residual sugar 13
Stephan Reinhardt: Bright straw yellow. Clear nose, ripe Sauvignon Blanc flavors, orange flowers. Pure and rich, thus dense and a little bit sweet. Quite powerful, very rich, and hard to swallow without food. Quite alcoholic 15
