Andrew Jefford: Pale water-gold. Another of the tropical, Pacific Ocean scents of tropical fruit; indeed, in the case of this wine, it almost seems to be evoking the Hunter Valley, way across the ditch. Slightly sweaty, too, but attractively so, as only SB can manage. Rather sweet and primary on the palate: lots of forceful, exuberant guava, lime pith, passion fruit. Rather a hard, squeezed finish. A big, juicy, noisy wine—and that’s fine and fun. But again, if two diners in a restaurant are trying to finish the bottle.. 13

Andreas Larsson: Very intense and perfumed nose, a hint of minerality, citrus, and, apart from more common aromas for this variety, a distinct note of raspberry. The palate is well rounded, with an integrated acidity and creamy texture; not really bone-dry but still a pleasant wine 14

Stephan Reinhardt: “Play it loud” seems to be the motto of this wine, which has no secrets but much power and creaminess, new oak flavors, and a searing acidity. Rich and powerful but lacking any hints of harmony. Aggressive and short, drying out 10
