Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Sweet cherry-compoteand- mocha nose, a tad overripe but within the spectrum of Zinfandel ripeness. Sleek attack; silky, intense, good acidity; tight and peppery, with zest and vigor rather than weight of fruit. A balanced wine, with eminent drinkability and no excesses. Arguably a touch lean for Zin, but it has a compensating delicacy and stylishness. Quite long 16.5
Alex Hunt: Immediately aromatic plum-jam nose; super-ripe yet fairly fresh. Classic Zinfandel aroma, with a certain fruit-tea complexity. Full scale and dramatic in the mouth, with a fair waft of alcohol but no overt raisin characters. This is a muscular style, for sure, but structurally it’s in good proportion, and the fruit is the winner on the finish 15.5
Anthony Rose: Mid-ruby, with very sweet ripe aromatic notes of smoky oak and ginger spice. This is a soft, supple, and juicy style of Zin, with plenty of sweet bramble and raisin fruit on the palate, nice juicy ripeness, and fresh acidity. Not exactly a Beaujolais of Zins and considerably more powerful than Beaujolais, but in that easy, gluggy mold that goes nicely with food 15
