Stephen Brook: Deep red. Super-ripe berry nose, yet it doesn’t cross the boundary into jamminess. Soft, juicy, and initially a bit slack, this good acidity gives some lift and drive. The appeal of the wine lies largely in its texture, and that initial slackness isn’t apparent on the mid-palate or finish. It’s not hugely complex, but the flavors show some complexity with coffee and fruit tones. Harmonious and long 17
Alex Hunt: Peculiar nose, with almost aggressive herbal notes set against Porty fruit, and a dusty-fig overlay. The palate is very sweetand- sour, with jammy fruit, then taut acidity, then back to a rather cloying finish. Overall, a lack of harmony here 12
Anthony Rose: Medium ruby in color, this seems quite simple and linear on the nose, with some pleasantly juicy dark-berry fruits on the palate and firmish “bitey” tannins pulling up the fruit before it has time to really settle on the palate. It is therefore a little dry, short, and rustic on the finish 15
