Stephen Brook: Deep red. Discreet, sour-cherry nose, a touch volatile, but there is an attractive sweetness of fruit springing from the glass. Very ripe, slightly sweet attack, with good acidity and lift and a suave texture, with subdued tannins. The fruit quality is intriguing, with sour cherries and red fruit rather than plums. It’s a heady wine, but the alcohol is well integrated. Perhaps the finish is less firm and persistent than one might hope for, but overall this is harmonious and balanced 17.5
