Andrew Jefford: Bright gold. Smells of ferment as much as of variety and land here, but reasonably complex and intriguing, and retaining its freshness impressively. On the palate, this is a complex, closely woven wine with freshness and lift. It’s a little less successful than the best of its peers for me, because it doesn’t have the same amplitude of expression that they do, nor the same kind of uncompromising embrace of land, old-vine variety, and season; it’s a “fresher” white wine than that. But maybe it’s made near the top of the hill? Very good white, anyway. 88
Andreas Larsson: Youthful and rather elegant nose, in a reductive/restrained style: mineral, barely ripe stone-fruit, citrus, and floral notes. The palate has medium weight but good freshness, flavor intensity, and a mineral presence. There’s good extract and juicy stone-fruit notes; a fine example offering both ripeness and restraint, in a slightly more mineral style than some of the bolder examples; fine purity and persistence. 90
Jancis Robinson: Bright pale lemon yellow. Pretty low-key on the nose. Well-integrated elements, though none of them seem especially intense—as though there were some pretty young vines in the mix? A bit astringent on the finish. Just a bit jagged at the moment on the palate, despite the age of this wine. Drink 2016–18. 87
