Andrew Jefford: Deep and dark in color; a saturated black-red. Fresh and refined aromas, packed with cardamom and orange peel. Nothing summarizes the perfumed freshness of these wonderful limestone soils in this vintage better than this wine: very graceful and fine, almost Rieslingesque (in redwine terms). On the palate, the wine is dark, quite tightly jointed, with intense acidity, great purity and lingering perfume, as well as ample backing tannins. It isn’t quite as tight and elemental as Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse, but it’s not far off. A hugely impressive mouthful of shattering density, though you have to be ready for the masterful acidity to appreciate it to the full. 2020–32. 93
