Andrew Jefford: Mid-gold. More restrained than the Lions, more pithiness and zest to it, more spice and subtlety, more freshness and nuance, but a little less immediate sensual kick. On the palate, it is a slightly fresher and livelier wine, a Sauternes gazing toward Barsac, if you like. Lots of finesse and intrigue here, but if you want the uncomplicated Sauternes experience, you should hunt down the Lions first of all. 2018–23. 88
Michael Schuster: More classic. Slightly richer, denser nose; very sweet, slightly richer, fuller in style, more breadth and scope and aromatic complexity, long in the mouth, and with fine length of aftertaste. Quality Sauternes, complete in its own right. 89
