Tim Atkin: Bright ruby/purple. Youthful. Oak-saturated nose. Big, ripe, alcoholic palate, with too much oak. It’s hard to see the two coming together in the bottle. The fruit deserves better treatment. 11

Alex Hunt: Charred oak and rich dark fruit on the nose. The palate is similarly brooding and muscular at this early stage. Not a charmer, but plenty of flavor and actually perfectly good balance as well. 14

Anthony Rose: Good, vivid, youthful ruby hue. Attractive red-berry fruit and vanilla oak on the nose. Well crafted; dark berry fruit; nice mulberry and dark-cherry-fruit richness on mid-palate, without overconcentration of oak or alcohol. Supple tannins and balancing acidity. 16
