Jesús Barquín: Pale gold. Interesting (spicy) tertiary aromas. The palate is plumper than the nose announced, with quite some weight and very ripe fruit. 84

Andrew Jefford: Full gold. Plenty of aroma here, but something’s not quite right for me, and the aromas seem a little chemical. Is this a culturally inadequate response? Is this a terroir note that I don’t recognize? I don’t think so; at any rate, I don’t find these aromas enticing. On the palate, this also strikes me as rather a strange wine, like some kind of oak, oxygen-informed northern interloper, with loose and sloppy flavors and prominent acidity, but a lack of middle-palate wealth and, above all, of aromatic finesse and purity. I’m sorry I don’t like it more, since I get the sense that there might be good quality raw materials here 81

Richard Mayson: Deep golden color; lovely, mature, honeyed fruit, lanolin, too, with the fruit still very much in existence on the nose; similarly rich and slightly honeyed on the palate, with some good savory ranciocharacter on the finish. A wine with real character and integrity. 90
