Essi Avellan: Deep lemon-gold. Overt, musty, bruised, dusty nose with spice. Zesty with overwhelming acidity compared to the low fruitiness. Weak and fading. Strange. 14

Simon Field: A very generous bacchanalian mousse refuses to dissipate; is this a good sign? The nose is disinclined to judge; then the palate is raw, woody, and seems far too young for a wine approaching its second decade. The jury were out and now they have returned with a “guilty” verdict. Those who like the woody styles may allow a stay of execution. 14.5

Tom Stevenson: Sorry, smells like a refermenting wine! Aldehydic, but not acetaldehyde. Bitterness spoils the palate. The second bottle has a similar aroma but is much smoother on the palate, without any bitterness. 16 (5 months post disgorgement, tasted 2014; 12%; 4g/l dosage; <1mg/l total SO2)
