SR | Wet-chalk and lemon aromas open this intensely aromatic but refined and elegant Rosacker Riesling, which even suggests fine phenolics on the nose. Pure, saline, and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, savory, and finely tannic Riesling, with an intense oolong and citrus finish. Very young and tonic, this is a promising Rosacker, to be kept for at least 4 or 5 years. 92
AJ | An amazing sight, folks: We have just switched to Rosacker from Schoenenbourg, and suddenly the colors are all much paler and more silvery than for Schoenenbourg. Is this nature or nurture? An intriguing question. Anyway, this wine is a pale silver-gold with greenish glints. Pure, sweet, lifted, very fine-drawn, and elegant; a Riesling for those who need an oxygen mask. Fill your lungs with this and you'll breathe again. The definition of pristine. Fresh, lively, zesty, pungent, almost crisp. Super fine-drawn; all the reins are in here, and the grapes seem just to have seeped acidity and little else. Yet that acidity is very lyrical and telling. The crispest wine in the tasting so far, but one whose aftertaste you can nonetheless savor. Super stuff. 93
AR | Pale gold, this is still quite reticent in aroma; a clean, fresh tingle on the tongue, it's medium intense in its flavors, with a fair whack of austerely sour acidity that cuts like a sushi knife through the fruit, so while no obvious crowd-pleaser, yet, with that fresh spritz and umami-like, acid-drop acidity, it will please those looking for a crisp, delicately dry and bitey style that will go well with the likes of shellfish and white meats. 92
