SR | Clear, fresh, and elegant on the nose, with ripe and dense white-seed fruit and some raisin aromas opens this Riesling from the Rosacker, which delivers chalky as well as saline notes. Playful, saline, and with fine tannins on the palate, this is a rich but elegant and balanced Rosacker that is clearly chalk-dominated and quite lush and balanced on the palate. The finish is long pure and saline, and gives the (very) ripe, lush, and concentrated fruit the tension and grip it needs. 92
AJ | Very greensilvery in hue. Sappy, fresh, vital, urgent: a 911 (or 999) Riesling that immediately demands your attention. Lovely nutmeg inside those pristine apple-pear fruits. The pungency tails off after a little while in the glass. Firm and sound, but at first it seems a little mono-dimensional, with a slight cardboard note. The acidity is acute and lovely, and it may be that this is some kind of a stage, but there are other Rosackers that do a little more in the mouth than this wine today. Vinous and pure nonetheless, and a tightrope walker, like all Rosackers; very good wine. 90
AR | A bright, pale, greeny lemon in color, this is attractively fresh and floral in aroma; there's a light tingle on the tongue, and the fruit shows an interesting tension between just-about ripe apple and citrus, a light smokiness, and a streak of crisp acidity that brings an almost-mineral tension to the wine; the fruit is really pure and delicate yet concentrated in subtle ways; another wine that may not be exactly a crowd-pleaser but that's precise and minerallly, finely balanced, and finishing with a dry, apply bite. 94
