AK | Clear, bright, and golden in the glass. The nose is redolent of ripe, mellow Golden Delicious apple, both fresh and baked, edged with a bruised-apple-skin edge. The palate has the same apple richness and an immense generosity, with tannins that are rather similar to those of a good, firm Pinot Noir. Fine and mouthwatering freshness of dried lemon peel stands this in good stead, and is rather mouthwatering and appetizing. Bold, balanced, and lasting. 91
FP | Dark straw color. A touch of cooked cream, with fresh apples and pears; wet walnuts on the nose, too. Very correct. Leans in as a white wine, in place claiming a macerated identity. Bright acidity keeps everything moving along. 90
DW | The color is in lightly golden, white-wine territory, and it's clear and bright. Pâtisserie cream and quince (is it Pinot Gris?) in heady, aromatic style; ripe and full on the palate, with quince and some creamy savoriness, the light macerated note coming in the form of a spike of orange pith; very nicely made, satisfying, rich white wine. 91
