AK | A bright and vivid orange in the glass is followed by an enticing nose that unites antiseptic fluid, honeyed summer blossom, orange peel and flesh—most unusual but in a strange way also appealing. The palate is concentrated and bright, with an edge of farmyard, yet stringent acidity and astringent tannins overpower this. There might well be some mousiness on the finish, which I do not mind here. A very powerful, bold, and uncompromising wine in need of hearty food. 86
FP | Amber color. The aromatics explode from the glass, with orange, mango, and passion fruit given an acetic lift. This walks a tightrope between compelling depth of flavor and challenging biological notes, but I think that the overall impression is one of harmony. The fine tannins are only perceptible on the finish, but they add to an impressive length of flavor. Improves considerably sitting in the glass. 92
DW | A tad cloudy, amber colored. Something very original about the flavors here: something of cola bean and a zingy something that's a bit like preserved lemon—but the prevailing tone is nutty, hazlenuts and almonds; real complexity and a teasing interplay of tannic grip, fresh acidity, citrus, those nuts, and a soy-umami bass tone, too. Really intriguing and long and finishing with a subtle verbena-tea note. Gastronomic. 93
