Chateau Petit-Village Pomerol Bordeaux France 2019 (14.5% ABV) — 92.5
SF | A touch riper than its sister, Beauregard, the Petit Village is an archetype of clay-dominated merlot carefully cultivated in a warm year, ripe but not too ripe, rich but not lacking in an inherent structure which is both architecturally precise and aesthetically pleasing. all the elements are there, with the acidity key to holding together the edifice and tannins which are both persuasive but also collegiate in terms of the ensemble. A fascinating imprimatur from a very particular year. 93
MS | Sweetly, fragrantly ripe on the nose, refined in impression too; rich, full, fresh, finely tannic – a lovely overall balance; deep and fleshy, long and fine across the palate, a touch of warmth from the alcohol and a touch oak dry in texture at the moment perhaps, but with very nice length to finish, classic fine Pomerol elegance. Drink Dates: 2028 - 2045+. 92
