SF | Dense crimson, a narrow rim and a very oaky nose dominating the ripe plums and cinnamon; liquorice behind. A broad expansive mouthfeel, plush and , to some maybe, indulgent, the fruit edging towards the torrefied.....lightly short, which in itself is accentuated by the mid-palate intensity and velvety grip 88
MS | Dense, powerful, fairly closed up, oak-cedar marked nose; fairly full, fresh enough, moderately concentrated in terms of actual flavour, moderately tannic; an ample, quite rich wine, finely firm in tannin, some clearly oak tannin, but with a good length of flavour, quite refined, and with a long, fragrant finish, a bit marked by the new wood and the alcohol warmth. Attractive wine, fine Lalande, perhaps an expression at least as much of a winemaking style as an origin. Its finesse makes it accessible already, but it’s likely to age gracefully too.
