AJ | Very dense, saturated black-red, opaque at the core. Some vegetal, almost minty notes mingles with beefy fruit: extravagant and unusual. Indeed in the context of 'classical' 19, this almost qualifies as (interestingly) kinky. Sweet and exuberant on the palate but a little overdrawn, somehow. There's lots to enjoy but it's stylistically very free-range in a vintage where we're all thrilling to the purity.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 88
MS | Very sweetly ripe, open, overtly cassis fruit to smell, seductive, and persistent in the glass, if not immediately obvious as Pessac; full, fresh, firmly if finely tannic, a fairly ample presence for the origin; sweetly ripe in fruit, pure, flowing, straightforward, framed by a firm, oak-and -fruit dry tannin, with good, light length. An excellent core fruit, within a fairly meaty tannin texture. Ideally leave a few years, though it is accessible already, in its ripe, chewy textured style. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2037+. 89
