Chateau Cheval Blanc St Emilion 2011 (14% ABV) — 92
SF | Deep core of colour, the thirteen years worn with ease, just a hint of leafy terroir and , on the palate, mint, chocolate and blue fruit, bilberry and sloe evidenced, above all, from within a rich fruit basket of indulgence. A very accomplished example. Impressive length to boot. An assured future. 93
DW | Delightfully mellow claret with a satisfying and seamless cedary-cassis character, the plush maturing fruit shaded with soft brush strokes of fine tannin and an appealingly bright, still-sappy, long finish.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 93
AR | Still relatively youthful in colour although starting to shade to garnet, which is hardly surprising after 13 years of ageing, this is a tad shy in aroma, but more forthcoming when you taste the wine; which has a rich sweet middle and liquorice spice undertow, but unfortunately it pulls up rather hefty and chewily dry on the finish, so really need food. This wine should be drunk sooner rather than later as it feels as though it's starting to dry out.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2026. 90
