SF | Raven black, with little concession at the rim , even eight years down the track. Nose of graphite, raspberry, undergrowth and bitumen; the fruit has long since been transformed, its drying character propped up, in the most positive sense imaginable , by the acidity and robust balustrade of internal structure. Smoky and resonant, lively and affirming. 91
AJ | Dark, saturated black-red; still opaque and impenetrable in colour Earthy and gruff, but with some fine root spice to perfume the overall profile; less fruit apparent now in the aromas compared to the younger wines. A resonant middle age. Ample breadth here, and a good example of how the best Dao can modulate and soften with age to great effect. The flavours, though, retain their inner drama and resonant, appealing severity. Ample, structured (though now without brutality) and gastronomic red: excellent.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 92
RM | Very deep, opaque colour, thin garnet rim; ripe, quite big secondary aromas, yet still restrained on the nose with some heady intensity underlying; big, quite powerful and leathery on the palate having developed well in bottle, full ripe savoury tannins leading to a long, full and quite powerful cedary finish.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2035. 93
