SF | Lively colour, raspberry stains on the cardinal's cloak; nose a little dusty, unforthcoming. The palate has a gentle spritz, austere tannins, a rather parsimonious disposition and an angular, challenging finish. A food wine. 88
AJ | Dark black-purple: handsome in the glass. Earthy, mossy, old tree-stumps after a night of rain, but an attractive vein of blackcurrant and black cherry too: fine aromatics here. A pure cascade of essence-of-place flavours; the landscape limpidly delivered. I love the bright spring-heeled tannins and the way that tempered acidity is skilfully bonded into the cherry-apple fruit. Cleansing. Fresh 'granite' wine -- you might spot a clear soil-signature link to fine-quality St Joseph. Bright and edgy but -- hurrah! -- not punishing.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2029. 93
RM | Mid-deep ruby hues; gentle, restrained well integrated berry fruit aroma, with similarly fine, firm raspberry fruit character on the palate, astringent, fresh and balanced with a lovely lithe finish.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 89
