SF | Deep purple colour; a touch of reduction on the nose. Behind that graphite, camphor and wet slate; not much evidence of fruit. The palate is a little dirty , so we have requested another bottle. Aromatics on bottle two are not dissimilar; the palate is better, but still disarmingly foursquare and querulous. 85
AJ | Dark, near-opaque black-red. BOTTLE TWO: Dry, reserved aromas. Not faulty or even unpleasant; perhaps some might find cardboard. Not tca but perhaps some sort of scalping at work. Doesn't improve with air. ON the palate, Dao in its grumpiest, most bitter-edged mood. Perhaps "traditional virtues" for some but not for me.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2026. 82
RM | Mid-deep youthful hues; rather woolly on the nose (first bottle distinctly musty) and similarly rather wild and ill-defined on the palate with austere tannins rising towards the finish. Unbalanced.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2029. 75
