EA | Bright developing lemon colour. There is a sunkissed quality to the ripe fruit nose of apples, toffee and hay fruit. The palate is even more pronounced than the nose, showing fruity power and concentration. Wide and vinous, there is a licorice and spicy touch on the long finish. Slightly heavy-handed overall but comes with opulent fruit in volumes.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2028. 90
SF | Pale collour, watery rim , with a gentle mousse, which does not presume. The nose is dominated by patisserie, camphor, red apples and sour honey. There is an almost savoury character too, which recalls, incorrectly, red grapes and the yeasty route which they may follow. Chardonnay of this ilk is formed from the very strict and precise terroir of the chalky slopes and impresses with its charming individuality. 92
AR | Mid-gold in colour, there;'s plenty going on in the aromas of this wine which is showing the freshness of the 2019 vintage along with some background togffee apple and nutty notes; there's a fine, silky mousse which is laden with richly flavoured orchard apple and stone fruits and a concentration of fruit that bodes well for its potential for longevity if kept well post-disgorgement in the cellar; for me this is a crowd-pleasing champagne, no hard edges, just delivering pleasure in its flavours, its texture and its overall balance.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 92
