EA | Deep lemon gold colour. Soft, brightly fruity pristine nose of a ripe profile. Vanilla and candy tones over sunkissed orchard fruit. Really clean and appetising fruitiness. Broad and fleshy palate with solid acid line bringing freshness and feistiness. The mousse is a little expansive but the texture lacey and vibrant. Long, concentrated and oak-lined finish coming with fruity sweetness.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 92
SF | Pale colour, steely nose ; flint, apples, spice and stones; uncompromising, a word which resonates down the palte, which is a touch foursquare and, for want of a better word, tight. Whether or not this can be tilted as a virtue in such a warm year is another matter; we need to revisit in five years but today all is strict, firm of purpose and somewhat unyielding. Hard to love, if easy to like... 89
AR | This 2018 Extra Brut has an appealing pale golden hue; there's an attractive fresh aromatic quality and plenty of nutty and sweetly ripe fruit aromas, followed when you taste the wine by apple and stone fruit flavours , buoyed by a richly flavoured mousse which is undercut by a lively streak of refreshingly tangy acidity in a well-balanced framework; so much so that it comes across as a crowd-pleaser of a champagne, not the mots complex or multi-dimensuonal necessarily, but very full-flavoured.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 92
